Terms of Use
1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Volley Pool ("we", "us"). By creating an account, joining a team, or using the app you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Volley Pool. The app records which version of these terms you accepted, and we may ask you to accept again when they change in a meaningful way.
2. Who may use Volley Pool
- You must be at least 18 and a parent, legal guardian, or team administrator for a team that uses Volley Pool.
- Children do not have accounts. Do not allow a child to use your account.
- Access is by invitation: a team activation code, a household invite code, or an administrator reserving a spot for you. A team administrator may approve, refuse or remove any account.
- One person, one account. Do not share your sign-in. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password and any codes confidential.
3. Your account and information
- Give accurate information, keep it current, and verify your email address.
- You confirm you have the right to give us the information you enter, including your child's name and your address.
- Your name, phone number and address are shown to approved members of your team so that families can contact each other; see the Privacy Policy for who can see what.
- You may delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete My Account). Deleting your account does not remove your child from the team roster; a team administrator manages the roster.
4. Carpool arrangements: what Volley Pool is, and isn't
- A coordination tool only. Volley Pool lets families post and respond to ride offers and requests. It is not a transportation, ride-hailing, childcare or supervision service, and it is not a party to any ride.
- No screening or endorsement. We do not check, verify or endorse any driver's identity, licence, driving record, insurance, vehicle condition, child-seat equipment, or background. A driver's appearance in Volley Pool says nothing about their suitability.
- Your decision, your responsibility. Each parent or guardian alone decides whether to accept a ride from, or entrust a child to, another person. We encourage you to contact the driver, ask questions, and confirm details before agreeing.
- Drivers are responsible for holding a valid licence and adequate insurance, keeping their vehicle safe and legal, following traffic laws, using appropriate child restraints and seat belts for every passenger, never driving impaired or distracted, and getting each child safely to and from the agreed place.
- Parents are responsible for the accuracy of pickup and drop-off details, for being ready on time, and for making sure the child knows the arrangements and has what they need.
- Times and locations are estimates. Schedules can change; confirm directly with the other family. In an emergency, call your local emergency number first.
- Team and league administrators manage rosters and events only. They do not supervise, arrange or guarantee rides.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Volley Pool for anything other than coordinating team transportation, or in a way that breaks the law;
- post information that is false, harassing, discriminatory, threatening, sexual, or that infringes anyone's rights;
- collect, copy, or use other members' information (names, phone numbers, addresses, children's information) for any purpose other than coordinating team rides, or share it outside the team;
- contact members who have not agreed to a ride, or use contact details to solicit or spam;
- try to access another team's or household's data, bypass access controls, probe or test our systems without permission, or interfere with the service; or
- share team activation codes or invite codes publicly, or with people the team has not invited.
We may suspend or remove accounts or content that break these terms or put people at risk, and administrators may remove members from their team.
6. Content you provide
You keep ownership of what you enter (names, addresses, notes, ride postings). You give us permission to store, process and display it as needed to operate Volley Pool for your team, as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not put anything in notes that you would not want the people who can see them to read — for example, share a gate code only in the private notes fields.
7. The service
- Volley Pool is provided free during the beta and may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued. We will try to give notice of material changes.
- We work to keep the service secure and available, but we cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that notifications, schedules, estimates or addresses are complete or correct.
- The service relies on third parties (such as Google Cloud and Apple Maps) that we do not control.
8. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Volley Pool is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We make no warranty about any driver, passenger, vehicle, ride, or arrangement made through the app.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Volley Pool and the people who operate it are not liable for any injury, death, loss, damage, delay, or expense arising from any ride or arrangement made or discussed through the app, from the acts or omissions of any driver, passenger, parent, team, administrator or other user, or from your use of (or inability to use) the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months (currently zero) and US$100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you; nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Assumption of risk and indemnity
You understand that travel by car involves inherent risks and that you choose to take part in carpool arrangements at your own risk. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Volley Pool and its operators from claims, losses and expenses arising from your breach of these terms, your content, or rides you give or arrange, to the extent permitted by law.
11. Ending your use
You may stop using Volley Pool and delete your account at any time. We or a team administrator may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your team stops using the service, or to protect the safety of members. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as 4, 8, 9, 10 and 13) will.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. When the change is meaningful we will change the version and effective date and, where appropriate, ask you to accept it in the app before you continue. Continuing to use Volley Pool after a change you have accepted means you agree to the updated terms.
13. General
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Clark County, Nevada, unless the law requires otherwise.
- If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it.
- These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about Volley Pool between you and us.
